Winery: In the hands of the 5th generation of the Marchisio family, their rolling hillside Arneis vineyard is in the charming Italian hilltop village of Castellinaldo, in the acclaimed Roero DOCG wine district of Piedmont in northwest Italy, known for its refreshing Arneis.. 1000 feet in elevation, the site is loaded with sand and alluvial silt and clay, closely-planted with over 2,000 vines per acre. It is cultivated by three women of the Marchisio family, (Vilma, Filomena and Denise), using Integrated Farming, with hand harvesting, organic herbicides, no pesticides and the utilization of sustainable agriculture which respects the environment.

The 100% Arneis is anaerobically-fermented (without access to oxygen) in cool stainless steel tanks, gently pressed and protected from oxygen from vineyard to bottle. Superbly aromatic with floral, stone fruit and beeswax. An intense mouthful of layered exotic fruits ranges from nectarine and white peach to quince, Asian pear, ruby grapefruit, pomelo and orange blossoms, with refreshing and bright acidity and minerality, finishing for 45 seconds, huge and complex. Made with no oak at all. 2,500 cases made, only 250 cases arrive in the US.

Barbera d’Alba D.O.C. 2020, Fossamara Vineyard, Piemonte, Italy.

Grown in sandy soil on a mild slope, this 100% Barbera is softly pressed, fermented temperature-controlled stainless steel and aged 8 months in bottle prior to release. A nose of plums, blackberries and pomegranate leads to a mouth-filling, juicy, delicately polished texture. Red fruits harmonize with earth spice flavors, finishing with blueberry preserves and spice. No oak at all. 800 cases made worldwide.
